Forum 6: Control Light Switch: Townhome The problem with this switch is that there are four switches in the same spot. According to the reading, "but difficulties mount rapidly with more than two switches at the same location" (Don Norman, pg. 136), which would apply to this situation because there are four switches in the same location which makes it confusing. The lights control two of the lights shown below, the far left switch controls the light in the kitchen, and the far-right switch controls the one over the table, and the one to the right of the first switch on the left controls the outside light, but the switch before the last one on the right does not control anything. This makes the mapping even more confusing since there is a switch for nothing and the two indoor lights are on opposite sides of the panel.
